Financial Aid

If you are concerned about the cost of continuing your education you’re not alone.  With the growing cost of tuition many students are rethinking college or are taking out massive student loans.  But before you rule out a higher education consider a few available options.

FAFSA
All students interested in financial aid for college will need to complete this form.  FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  In order to qualify for any grants or student loans the government must first receive your FAFSA.  This form is very important for high school seniors and college students.  Don’t procrastinate; fill out your form today!

Grants
There are many different types of grants available to college students.  Many of these grants were created to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity for higher education.  Many grants go unclaimed because students don’t know they exist.  Don’t make that mistake and take advantage of government funds.

Scholarships
If you don’t qualify for a federal grant but still need help paying for college, check out the number of scholarships that are available.  There are a number of scholarships available to students for everything from sports to community service.  Many of these scholarships go unclaimed each year because students don’t apply for them. Local scholarships are also available. St. David’s Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2010 St. David’s Neal Kocurek Scholarship Awards. Applications are due March 12, 2010.
